How to download and install the Windows 10 ADK

The Microsoft Windows 10 Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) supplies the Windows 10 Preinstallation Environment (WinPE), which serves as a run-time environment for the Casper Startup Disk.

Downloading and Installing the Windows 10 ADK
 
  1. Download and run the Microsoft Windows 10 ADK Setup Program (ADKSETUP.EXE)
     
  2. When prompted to specify the location for the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit, click Next.


     
  3. Choose whether you want to participate in Microsoft's program to collect anonymous usage data (Windows Kits Privacy) and then click Next.


     
  4. Review the License Agreement and click Accept to proceed.


     
  5. When prompted to select the features you want to installed, only Deployment Tools and Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) must be checked. Click Install to proceed with the installation.
